Sentinel overview

Sentinel is Edisource’s AI monitoring layer for websites, regulatory databases, news sources, and other public pages. It watches for new content, changes, and keyword mentions so editors do not have to refresh the same sources all day.

Each scan looks for:

  • Newly published articles, reports, and press releases
  • Regulatory or policy updates
  • Industry news and company announcements
  • Changes to pages you already follow
  • Mentions of the terms you care about
  1. Target: The URL or keywords to watch
  2. Instructions: What the AI should treat as new, relevant, or ignorable
  3. Schedule: How often to scan
  4. Filters: Optional include, exclude, and date rules
  5. Notifications: Optional email alerts

The instructions field is the assignment. Tell the AI:

  • What kind of content you want
  • What counts as new or changed
  • What to prioritize
  • What format you want back

Effective example:

Please download and analyze any new research reports published in the last 24 hours. Focus specifically on reports related to food additives and regulatory compliance. Ignore any press releases or marketing materials.

Vague instructions create noise. Specific instructions reduce false positives.
