Edit a draft

The editor is a live collaborative document. Teammates can be in the same draft at the same time. If the connection drops, editing pauses until you Reconnect. Chat and the other right-panel tabs stay available.

The formatting toolbar covers the usual newsroom tools: headings, bold and italic, lists, alignment, links, highlight, comments, and a clock for Version History.

Select text to open the bubble menu. AI Actions can lengthen, shorten, change tone, translate, complete a phrase, or check spelling and grammar. Ask AI is for a one-off instruction on the selection.

Type / at the start of a line for a slash prompt. When Jo replies, choose Insert Above, Insert Below, or Replace.

Edit → Find and replace searches the draft. Insert can add a table, a horizontal rule, or a comment.

When Jo changes the document, the new copy is marked in the draft. A widget asks you to Accept or Reject the change. You can also Accept All or Reject All.

Publishing and export wait until those edits are resolved. If you try to publish with pending changes, Edisource asks you to accept or reject them first.

View → Hide AI edit highlights turns the marks off if they get in the way. The edits are still there until you accept or reject them.

A template can wrap parts of the story in tags such as <title> or <dek>. Content Studio shows those regions as labeled sections, not as raw markup. <lead_paragraph> appears as lead paragraph.

Each wrapper has a ⋮ menu:

  • Remove wrapper from text keeps the copy and drops the tag
  • Delete section removes the whole block

The unlabeled text is the body. Editors can change a tagged field without hunting through the article. Those same tags are what CMS publishing and custom integrations read.

Write new tags in the template, not by typing brackets into the draft. If a run comes back as one block of body copy, the assignment did not emit the tags.

Create Comment Thread on the toolbar, or Edit → Add comment, starts a thread on the selection. Replies stay attached to that span.

The clock opens Version History. Create Version snapshots the current draft. Restore Version puts an older snapshot back. Use this before a large Jo rewrite if you want an easy undo.

Attach the files Jo should ground against on Source material. Ask for a rewrite or a search in Chat with Jo.
